Program Summary

Chartering a GLSS Racing Opti is a great way to join the world of Optimist Dinghy racing. We provide you with an easy, confident entry into our racing program at a low commitment level on your part. We'll give you the tools to succeed so you can focus on supporting your first-year racer.

Program Details

GLSS charter recipient fees:
1. Lease Fee: $350 (Full Season) or $175 (3-Week)
2. Insurance guarantee for boat liablity and the value of Optimist dinghy, sail, and equipment
3. LGYC Junior Membership: $285 (Opti Advanced Racing Team only)
4. Tuition for GLSS Learn-to-Race Optimist or Advanced Opti Race Team session.
5. Damage deposit: $300

Included with the charter:
1. Optimist dinghy, blades and rig ($2,500 value)
2. Boat/equipment storage fee ($250 value)

Additional Requirements / Notes:
1. You are expected to come to sailing school a majority of the time, race in as many club races as you can, and travel to as many regattas as is practical.
2. You are responsible for all repairs to the Optimist, equipment, sail
3. You are responsible for all upgrades to equipment
4. Due to high demand, you may only charter a GLSS Racing Optimist for one full season. Afterwhich, you will be required to supply your own boat, with purchasing a GLSS Optimist a possible option.
5. Quantities are limited. We provide charters on a first-come, first-served basis.
