Program Summary

  • Ages:  Jr Reachers 8-12;  Reachers 12-18
  • Open Bics for Jr Reachers
  • 420's for Reachers
  • Windsurfers: Techno 293's
  • Sonar, 23 Foot Keelboat
  • Two Week Sessions
  • Monday - Friday;  9AM-Noon for Jr Reachers and 1-4PM for Reachers

  • Description

    This intermediate to advanced level class will provide students  the challenge of mastering a variety of sailing skills.  Emphasis will be put on having fun while learning proper sail trim, boat balance and control.  Students in both classes will be challenged to try windsurfing, learn how to handle a spinnaker and manage their boats in a variety of conditions.  Sailors in both classes will have the opportunity to sail the 23' Sonar.  Students will also enjoy navigating to Williams Bay and Fontana, participate in challenging games on the water and grow in their love of sailing.

    Four Reachers Sessions this Summer:  Register now

    • June 18 - 29
    • Jul 2- 20 - No class July 4 or the week of July 9-13
    • July 23 - Aug 3
    • August 6 - 15

    Curriculum

    Goals of the Reachers Curriculum include:

    • Mastering the conditions presented on a daily basis
    • Becoming proficient on a windsurfer and dingy
    • Learning the basics of rigging, sailing and docking a larger boat
    • Proper boat set-up and handling of a spinnaker
    • Learning the points of the lake and how to navigate them
    • Having fun
